norovirus, a most unwelcome visitor!

norovirus, such a pretty name for this minute, yet beastly winter virus!
Looks harmless, doesn't he?
You wouldn't recognize him in the street, he is definitely not pavement pizza.

We had a visit from him - or one of his many kith and kin - and we are not grateful!

norovirus sneaks in while your attention is elsewhere and he hits you with the force of a sledgehammer coming down on you from a great height.

You are felled instantly.
There is absolutely nothing you can do.
Except grin and bear it.
And leak.

I didn't know you could leak from that many directions at the same time. Not to mention orifices.

Sorry, if you are one of those suffering from a nervous disposition. Or delicate sensibilities.

I am poorly and feeling very sorry for myself. And therefore not overly bothered about your sensibilities.
Any sense of humour I have ever had has been flushed down various pans.

Sorry folks, I'll see you when I see you.

Toodeloo, almost literally.

  2. How miserable for you. It did the rounds here, a couple of years ago. The symptoms were exactly as you describe.

Hope you're well on the way to recovery now. You have been missed.

  14. I would call out the brass band to cheer you up but the noise would probably finish you off.

A soft symphony? No? You just want to be left alone.

    Ok by me.Nite.

  19. So that's what's going on! I've missed you for the past few days but thought you'd probably swanned off for a tropical holiday and would be soon back to regale us with stories of waving palm trees and drinks with umbrella decorations.
Sadly, it seems that the only hot spot is probably your forehead and the only waving is the heaving of your stomach.
    Gutte Besserung!!

  20. I wonder if you have become as blue as the virus, or whether a sickly green is the colour of the day? Either way, I hhope you are soon back in the pink!

  21. I hope you have installed sheep dip around your boundaries and asked the postman to don a face mask! Sounds vile!!Do hope you have sufficient serving staff chez vous to provide good nrusing care so you can get well soon!

  22. Poor thing! I second the idea about the serving staff but suspect not!

  23. I am so sorry that you are sick, and I hope that it doesn't last long. Most viruses only last long enough to make one shed a few pounds, so perhaps they are not all bad.

    Get well soon.

  24. Oh dear. This does not sound good. Get well soon.

  25. A virus by any name is, by definition, just awful. It's perfectly acceptable to not be overly concerned about others' sensibilities when you're feeling like dung.
I hope your physical health soon follows your sense of humor back to the peak!
