Merry - Atishoo - Christmas

I’d much rather publish a photo of a pretty Christmas motif than a picture of a cold virus. But I’d be telling lies. I am not saying that Christmas will be cancelled altogether at our house - still two days to go with a chance of recovery -  but anybody walking past our house might conceivably imagine that we keep seals or sea lions. Or geese. There’s honking, coughing, barking and an awful lot of wheezing going on. We are struggling.

All you lovely blogging people who have sent Christmas greetings, thank you very much. Sorry, but I can’t reciprocate. This is all you get.

A Very Merry Christmas
And Goodwill To All Humankind

Feel better, rest up and have as peaceful a time as possible - cheers Hilary

  5. While the cold virus you pictured does have a kind of beauty, it doesn't belong on a Christmas Tree. I hope yours leaves the building soon. And thank you, and echo your Christmas wishes.

  14. Oh, please do get well soon. I had the flu earlier this month and it was just grim, so I can truly empathize with all the sounds and aches and pains. I love your greeting (and actually, the virus looks surprisingly festive!). I send you wonderful wishes for peace and healing and for a Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.

  17. Friko, if you begin to hear your lungs gurgling when you breathe out, go to the doctor. Antibiotics are a miracle. And take care of you and yours.

  18. Your virus has a holiday look about it.

I am hoping you two will be well by Christmas - or at least on the road to recovery. I wish you a much healthier new year.

Merry Christmas, anyway, even if you have to celebrate it next week.

  24. Oh dear me, GET WELL soon, how inconsiderate of you to get sick right on Christmas! Just kidding lovely lady may you and yours be feeling well again, sooner rather than later.

  25. Oh I am so sorry! I hope it will soon be over and you can enjoy some Christmas cheer. I gather there are some very nasty lurgies going the rounds at the moment: husband is just getting over one such. Happy Christmas to you and yours:)

  28. Dearest Friko - I am truly sorry to hear you are under the weather - hopefully you will recover enough to enjoy the Christmas meal. I think it was about 6 Christmases ago that the flu bug hit here and it was not pleasant. Take care of yourself and be well soon. Happiness to you and yours.Cheers

  29. I'm so sorry to hear illness has come to you and your Beloved, Friko. I've already sent off a quick note to Santa, asking him to tuck an extra measure of good health into his bag for you. Perhaps he could arrange an early delivery!
Merry Christmas to you, and best wishes for the New Year.

  30. It's a swine, isn't it? Warmth, rest, plenty of fluids (nice ones, to your taste). And, messy though it is, I do find warm salt water helps to flush out the sinuses and as a gargle for a sore throat. Be kind to yourselves, and all the best.

  31. Anyone who can manage to wish goodwill to all humankind while imitating a walrus has something special going for them!

I do hope it clears up....honey lemon whisky and hot water with a little grated ginger root helps...or anaesthetises, I'm not sure which.

  32. ugh. we are on the way to the doctor here in a few minutes...we had two boys wake with the flu today....blech....

  33. I have been sneezing all week, but it is due to the dry air. Everytime I sneeze in a store people take ten steps back from me and glare. I try to tell them it is allergies, but they still glare as if I should be home and in bed. Hope that tea and warm fire make you heal faster. So sorry!!

  36. Well . . . just because they're viruses doesn't mean they aren't pretty in a photograph. I'm sorry you're feeling awful, but, well, what better time of year to stay in and cuddle close to the fire and drink hot drinks? There's nothing grand outdoors to be out looking at.
I hope you feel better very soon, anyway.

  40. Remember my raving about apple cider vinegar? One of the good things it does is thin mucus. You might want to test that theory. I hope it works for you.

  41. Oh Friko, sorry to learn of the bug visiting your home before Christmas. Hoping that lots of fluids and rest will chase that unwanted addition away.

(Funny though, that the germ photo does have a certain snowflake twinkle to it!)

I wish you and yours a very Happy Christmas and let the good wishes continue into that brand New Year. xo
