HELP!

For the first time ever in five years Blogger/Google has swallowed one of my post . It appears as ‘Weather for Chickens - Permutations 2’ in followers’ blogrolls but cannot be found on my blog.

Does anyone know if such posts can be retrieved? If so, how? I am using an imac desktop.
How can one approach Blogger/Google to ask for help?

I know this is not a very important matter but it would be good to know the drill for future reference.

Friko - its happening to others as well - the address above may be a direct link to begin - you may have to type it in?
Then, you can also go directly to :Google/Blog" for help and that is at:

Hope this is of some value to you. I, myself, have never experienced losing a post - hope i do not.
Cheers and hope you get your post back. Lilly

  2. I don't know how to retrieve it BUT I do know that Blogger can be contacted for help questions. Type in "Blogger Help" into Google and it should take you to their help page!

  5. Was it a complete post that was lost or just the beginning - because this is what I received in my reader -
Perhaps they’re not ‘weeds’ but wildflowers. After all, a weed is simply a flower growing in the wrong place. "It is not the business of the botanist to eradicate weeds. It’s enough for him if he can tell just how fast they grow.” (C. Northcote Parkinson) The average gardener, on the other hand, is obsessed with them; under no circumstances will he tolerate them in his tidy beds. The gardener
    Hope this helps

  6. You probably tried this, but is it possible it somehow landed in your draft, vs published posts?

  7. It hasn't happened to me but I've heard of it happening to others. If you do find out how to retrieve it, please be sure to share the knowledge with the rest of us.

  8. If you save to your computer then you can just republish. It sometimes takes a few goes if your internet connection is slow.
No help to you but I use LiveWriter to compile in so all my posts are automatically on my machine and in theory can't get mislaid. I used to be a big Mac fan but although it is a fast system it is very controlling.

  9. I was going to suggest what Susan suggested. Maybe it is marked as draft?? That is what has happened to me in the past.

  10. I can't help either, as it's never happened to me. Technically Google's Help forums may be able to answer your question , but I wouldn't hold your breath, as they are run by volunteers who are swamped by queries. I've never used an imac and write all my posts in Word on my laptop before pasting them into Blogger. I just wouldn't trust an online system not to eat my work at some point.

    Good luck.

  11. Hope you can find it again. I'm of little use in technical stuff like this. Frustrating.

  12. I hate Blogger. I only use Wordpress these days. Blogger regularly swallows comment I make to those who use Blogger.

  13. How desperately frustrating ! But I haven't any sensible advice , I'm afraid .
Do you have a Compatibiliteitsweergave ( sorry , don't know what it's called in English. It's blue and looks a bit like cartoon teeth ) symbol on your browser ?
When I couldn't access my Dashboard , I finally stabbed the blue teeth as a last resort ... and it worked ! Maybe it's worth a try ?

  14. Yes, I had wondered. Blogger has always righted itself in time, to my experience. Sorry you lost your work. I hope we do get to enjoy the post..... Reminds me of the days when ones sole MS could be left on a bus, or scattered to the winds. Wishing you just a sweet June day dear, U. ♥

  15. Usually when that happens, it means I have posted the item by mistake and then taken it off again. But it doesn't seem to disappear quite quickly enough. Just another example of Blogger being awful, I imagine.

  16. Heck, something else to worry about with BLOGGER!
Um, the said post is there when I logged into your blog......

  17. Hmmm. It might reappear. Is it in your list of scheduled posts? If it is, try clicking on it there to see if you can access the complete post.

    Love,

  18. Friko, I've not had that problem, but noticed today that only one of my "followed" bloggers' posts appears on my dashboard page. Only the most recently posted blog shows up. To see other of my blogging pals' recent posts, I just have to click at random on the list of blogs I follow.

Hoping this clears itself up soon, because it's annoying.

  19. That's very frustrating. I have a Mac also and I never write my posts in Blogger. I simply use Notes (found in Mac Mail). I write everything up in there and when I'm ready to post or create a draft, I copy and paste it into Blogger and format it there. I don't delete my original in Notes until I'm certain that it has posted. Let's hope that this is the first and last time that happens.

  20. I think there was a blogger problem .. but I too always draft, copy and paste across .. and sometime I do it for my comments - when I get freaked out by losing such things!

Cheers and hope all is well .. I'm moving on so perhaps I'll find out ... Hilary

Comments are good, I like to know what you think of my posts. I know you'll keep it civil.
