  2. Cool candle holder. I also love that arrangement of greenery and sedum below.

  3. I've always wanted to build a menorah. This may be less fraught, or a combination of the two. New symbols for old.

  5. We were talking about Schwibbögen and the ethymology of "Schwib" yesterday at my parents' - they have a Schwibbogen with lights, too, and of course it was lit up for our Adventskaffee and Spielenachmittag. None of us knew the true meaning of Schwib, and we did not want to interrupt our game for research, but maybe you know?

    1. My parents looked it up - the "Schwib" comes from "Schweb", because the Bögen were sort of schwebend between two buildings. Logical, and yet I didn't think of it.

  18. Hi Friko - I too had to look up Schwibbogen and see the art is a form of wood-craft, while depicting the trades of the area .. I love it. Also so interesting to read about .. just what I need! Cheers Hilary
