My World - The Spring Equinox - The Sun enters the House of Aries

Few people, even in the UK,  know about the beauties of the English Border County of Shropshire; I feel privileged to live here and  have decided to sing its praises in these pages. South Shropshire is a particularly quiet, very rural part of the world,  far from busy crowds and the hustle and bustle of modern cities. The Shropshire Hills have been granted the status of AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) as well as Area of Tranquility.

will help me.

Beware
'Here Be Dragons'

The Dragon's Head

And the Dragon's Foot with Long and Vicious Claws

The Sun enters the House of Aries:

He that is born in Aries shall be of good wit, and neither rich nor poor. He shall be soon angry and soon pleased. He shall have damage by his neighbours, he shall have power over dead folks' goods. He shall be a liar and unsteadfast of courage, and will take vengeance on his enemies. Unto thirty-four years he shall be a fornicator, and wedded at thirty-five; and if he be not he shall not be chaste.  He shall have great sickness at twenty-two years, and if he escape he shall live seventy-five years after nature.

The woman that is born in this time shall be ireful, and suffer great wrongs from day to day. She shall lose her husband and recover a better. She shall be sick at five years, and in danger at twenty-five, and if she escape, she shall be in doubt until forty-three years, but afterwards prosper.

  3. Wonderful dragon! I will have to remember to show these photos with my 11yo son.
I've shared some of my neck of the woods today as well. I hope you can come for a visit!

  6. Interesting. My grandfather was born in Aries. I don't know what his state of health was, aged 22, but he lived on until he was 92.

    Love the dragon.

  8. I love finding animals made of wood or rock in the woods. You do live in such a lovely area. Maybe one of these days it will be on my list of places to visit. Although if I head to the British Isles...it will have to be English gardens first.

  13. Clearly one is happy that you are a female Aries. I was married to the other kind once, and more than one thing said of them rings true in his case.

I like the idea of showcasing where you live. Will investigate the Tuesday link!

  16. Friko, these photos of yours continue to feed my country dreams.

As to Aries, I am now thinking about all whom I have known, wondering if they might have had some other moon or sun or something rising.

  17. Sometime in the 80's, on my way to Northern Wales, I passed through Shropshire and I loved what I saw there. Peaceful and calm and lovely. I still remember it.
Your photos are stunning, I especially love the dragon, but the pond makes me want to stop and sit on the bench and just let my thoughts wander.

    Schön, diese "My World" Serie!!

    Bis bald und alles Gute!

  20. Anywhere with a secret dragon is special !
And as for the insight into Aries .... what does the 1604 Kalendar say about the rest of us ?
( I'll wait to hear them all before I disclose what I am! )

  24. i love the photos - particularly the dragon. It's a shame that in the UK places have to be "designated" as something before we start realizing how important they are to maintain

I used to write a spoof horroscope for our works magazine :)

  25. Dear Friko: Lovely pics! Could you please explain for whom these astrological charts were made? Reminds me of Mother Shipton...sounds very accurate, wonders how to find out if this did come to pass? Expect Camelot to make an appearance soon!

  27. You do live in beautiful and natural surroundings. Your photo of the pond with the mist in the background is a gem. As for Aries, since I was born today 26 March, I am one and indeed I was sick at 5 years (almost died) lost a husband and got another one. Now I am over 45, so I guess I don’t have to worry about the future…
